Anthony “AJ” is a 10 year old vivacious boy who is on his 3rd battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) since the age of two. Anthony’s only medical chance of survival was a Bone Marrow Transplant which he received in January 2014.
Anthony was recently discharged from UNC-Chapel Hill hospital after a three month inpatient stay. Due to the high risk procedure and the sudden complications that can occur; Anthony will continue to stay in Chapel Hill (Ronald McDonald House) under his doctor's care. His expected stay, at this point, is two ½ more months without any unexpected medical delays.
AJ loves basketball. Last year he tried out for one of coach Troy's teams. Ultimately his bout with cancer took him off the court...temporarily, we hope and pray. In April 2014, we named AJ as an honorary member of our national championship team.
