OPERATIONS MANAGER / Sports Management Opportunity

FBC Carolina Elite is a leading youth basketball program serving elite level student-athletes in the Carolinas since 2002. In our short tenure, we have recruited and developed youth teams that have claimed 5 National Championship titles, over a dozen state championships, and the first wave of our players are now being recruited into a variety of college basketball opportunities, including 5 current ACC commits.

 

At this time, we serve over 150 active athletes across 17 HS girls’ teams in the Carolinas. We are in the 2nd phase of deploying a technology process that provides over 100 colleges immediate digital access to an unmatched library of current content for each student-athlete in our organization. With our network of talented coaches, trainers, recruiters, technology, social media influencers, college communications experts, and funding partners, we expect more than half of all girls recruited to play college basketball from the Carolinas will come through our program by 2025.

 

 

Summary: 

This is a paid contract (1099) position to help manage the day to day operations of the club in our Raleigh office location. Contract duties depend on the applicant, but would include various roles. The applicant must be a diligent and fast paced worker with excellent communications skills. There is regular travel involved. From Mar thru May, and also July / August, expect to be on the road for 8 weekends and 2 full weeks in July. Being present for our players’ outings are an important part of serving these student-athletes. We do not require a specific college degree, however the ideal candidate would have a sports management or communications focus. Priority consideration would also be given to former college NCAA players.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with club coaches to coordinate communications with players and college coaches

  • Maintain database on recruiting efforts of our student athletes

  • Work with club director on event planning for practices, tournaments, showcases

  • Work with our art team to provide direction on ongoing needs for social media

  • Interface with our media team to provide ongoing coverage for all our girls

  • Assist with website maintenance and updating content for player websites.

  • Respond to inquiries about onboarding new players into our regional systems in the Carolinas

  • Be responsible for gear fulfillment for our teams

 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management/Marketing/Communications and/or experience in customer service preferred or coaching HS or collegiate level basketball.

  • Background check required. 

  • Strong computer skills including familiarity with spreadsheets, PPT, Word, and photo or video editors

  • Willing to multitask with continual attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. (need to be able to deal with difficult personalities)

  • Must be willing to work afternoons/evenings and travel certain times of the year

  • Self-motivated with an inclination toward girls basketball and serving student athletes. 

 

 

Additional information:

Starting salary range $30,000 to $55,000 depending on candidate’s experience, capabilities, & hours.

A relocation package may be available for interested applicants.
